Between a quick bite and a visit to the doctor, you can meet Chabad.
The Mercaz Giron shopping center on Jabotinsky Street in Raanana, a popular city for English, French and Russian speaking communities in Israel, will be displaying a gallery of Chassidic art.
Titled “Essentialism,” the series of paintings were created by Lubavitcher Yaacov Abergel giving residents and visitors a window to Jewish “shtetl” life back in Russia and Eastern Europe.
His artwork shows a Jewish water carrier, a father walking with his 2 children in the cold snow, the shul of the Baal Shem Tov in Mezibush, Ukraine, among other scenes.
The portraits include the Alter Rebbe, the Rebbe Rashab, the Frierdiker Rebbe being welcomed by a crowd in America, the Rebbe in his earlier years walking out of his room in 770 Eastern Parkway and the Rebbe during a farbrengen.
The level of these paintings are worthy of a museum…
The Rebbe himself spoke of the importance for a painter to capture the essence in paintingThis is what the painter Rav Yaacov Abergel was able to show in each of these painting
