While most children may be in school, there are many that have two weeks off during the holidays.
For children with special needs who are off from school, the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn held its annual Winter Camp.
Coordinated in conjunction with and hosted at the H.E.S. in Canarsie, the program included crafts, Karate, sports, a clown and magic show and exclusive access to the center’s multi-sensory environment – Minies Place.
The staff of the H.E.S. headed by Mr Eli Rubenstein – Executive Director, Mrs. Moshit Rivkin – Asst Executive Director, Mrs. Danielle Fleischman, and Mrs. Alanna Javors – Coordinator, Special Needs Program, all went out of their way to accommodate the Friendship Circle, down to the last detail.
The Friendship Circle thanks Mrs. Majesky of Bnos Menachem and Morah Teichtel of Beis Rivkah, Mrs. Anita Altman of the UJA-Federation of New York and the dedicated volunteers who are constantly outdoing themselves in their dedication to the children.
The Program was sponsored in part by the Friendship Circle – Public Holiday Scholarship Fund.
