A perpetrator grabbed a Chassidic child who was walking with his father to a Mesiba Shabbos event at Shul on Shabbos afternoon in Crown Heights.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 pm on Kingston Avenue near Lefferts Avenue.
Surveillance footage shows the perpetrator, who has his face covered by a mask, walking past the father walking with 2 children, and grabbing one of the children.
The father then says something to the man, who puts the child down.
The mother of the child said that the perpetrator was “a Black man, wearing a mask, who tried to grab her son, until her husband started to beat him up” at which point he put the child down.
The police are searching for the perpetrator.
“Something is clearly going on in Crown Heights—there have been incident after incident over the past two weeks,” said Yaacov Behrman, Director of the Jewish Future Alliance.
This incident follows four recorded incidents last week in Crown Heights, including a Jewish man severely beaten by two black teens during an attempted robbery, a slashing attack on a Jewish man, a Jewish individual being aggressively knocked down, and a man who harassed customers at a Kosher Cafe with antisemitic and anti-Israel slurs. All the incidents involved black male perpetrators.

The perpetrator was identified later on Shabbos after committing further violence. He is known to the police for past arrests in the neighborhood.
He is currently under arrest by the NYPD 71st Precinct detective squad.

The Frierdiker Rebbes life was threatened so he became a marksman. It’s not chassidish to be weak. They should promote self defense classes in the community and we need an off the record group of vigilantes administering justice. Jewish blood can’t be cheap. Living in crown heights for almost 20 years , there are a couple blocks I avoid. Kingston between empire and lefferts is one of them. It’s not a safe block! Especially when it’s dark out!

On Carroll and Schenectady, the last house before the apt building is rented to another kind of people we need to be careful of. The landlord said that he had to rent to them because no Yidden had rented that house. He too should be ashamed of himself! What’s going on with prosecution and law enforcement?? Are crimes against Jewish people in crime heights OUTSIDE the law?
