Oholei Torah held their annual father and son Achdus Melava Malka for Pre-1A, first and second grades this Motzei Shabbos.
The evening included speeches and lively singing and dancing.
Second grade student Mendel Markel spoke about Hei Teves and the lesson it has for all of us. He then read a letter that his class wrote to Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin.
Rabbi Chaim Schochat, father of a student in Rabbi Benjamin’s class, addressed the crowd.
Division principal Rabbi Meir Shimshoni spoke about the importance of parents being a part of their child’s chinuch. He then thanked all the teachers and remedial staff for their tireless efforts for the students.
Live music by Rabbi Yossi Goldstein got the kids and their fathers up on their feet in dance.
A highlight of the evening was a surprise appearance by singer Benny Friedman, who sang lively nigunim.
“The evening was really an incredible success,” Rabbi Meir Shimshoni told COLlive. “Crown Heights really got together B’achdus, and truly united tonight. And that’s something we really need nowadays,” he said.

Could not have thought of a better surprise for the boys than Benny Friedman. He is a real life example of using your talents to the fullest and still being a chossid . Go Benny!
