South Florida Jewish Academy, located in Coconut Creek, Florida, has integrated the new Your Torah Tutors curriculum for the entire school, after seeing its success with individual students.
“During the 2021 school year, we heard about the ‘Your Torah Tutors’ program to help with learning Shorashim and Chumash,” says Rabbi Shneur Gansburg, a teacher at South Florida Jewish Academy. “We decided to test it out with one student and see how it went.”
That one student soared through the program, learning and acquiring skills and knowledge in just a few short months, Rabbi Gansburg says. “The success was amazing – like we’ve never seen before,” he said.
Based on that success, the school decided to incorporate this program into the classroom, and see if this program has the same effect on all students. “We signed up each kid with their own account and it became a part of their daily learning,” he said.
The boys are mastering the Shorashim quicker than ever before and because of the incentives, they are loving it at the same time, Rabbi Gansburg reports. “They can do homework on their own and look forward to reviewing on their own online accounts which are brought to life with interactive activities and pictures to help them learn. Our students are now able to open a Chumash and use their Shorashim knowledge to translate the Possuk by themselves. It is incredible,” he said.
“I have been teaching for a few years and it’s never been this easy to teach the kids! They love it and love to review!” says Rabbi Gansburg. “We have really seen success at every age and stage with this program and look forward to using it for many more students in the coming year.”
Because of the success at South Florida Jewish Academy, YTT plans on making this program available to other schools and Yeshivas.
