you should think before you run your mouth. maybe you don’t understand the point of smicha, or you’re just plain ignorant. but smicha “is” basic Judaism, which anyone who wants to keep a kosher home needs to know. dont tell me “we brings everyone who learns smicha down.” its people like you who learn smicha for the title “rabbi” who bring my name down..you boy child…you deadbeat has-been!! get off you’re high horse!! and how dare you say we need to learn basic Judaism?! i will personally school the average “yeshiva bachur” in any subject of Judaism… be it halocha,… Read more »
WOW this looks like an awesome school and wow all of you guys look great, you are all doing a really good thing as well. CONGRATZ
To a LA yid who davens @ LY: It is kind of you to come forward to share your info. with the k’lal. Certainly your intentions are pure (?),however, your points/concerns MUST BE ADDRESSED! THE BACHURIM ARE CERTAINLY FOLLOWING THESE COMMENTS, AS WELL AS THE HANAHALLA,PARENTS,POTENTIAL RECRUITS…SO IT’S VITAL 2 THE SUCCESS OF THIS MOISAD OF THE REBBE TO SET SOME THINGS STRAIGHT, NOT JUST FOR THE RECORD OR FOR ANYONE’S PRIDE, BUT BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT THE REBBE’S RATZON WOULD BE! AS HE CERTAINLY WANTS THIS TO FLOURISH & BLOSSOM SO IT CAN HELP MORE & MORE BACHURIM. It sounds… Read more »
In life there’s always gonna be people out there to bash you, u just have to focus on the good and keep the school going, cuz its awesome work Mrs Katz is doing, keep it up!
One day I hope to send my kids to this program.
The Rebbe wants every bochur to get Smicha before he’s married. The Rebbe did not set any conditions or prerequisites for this.
Schorchem Harbeh Me’od
Keep up the great work of supporting our future…our kids. More should emulate your inspiring work.
– A fan in Vegas
The vast majority of “graduates” of every chabad semicha program do not “pursue the life of rabbonus or education”.
your point is not uniquely relevant to this program.
What Mrs. Katz and the yeshiva are doing is just great. We need more people like them showing true care and concern for our children and future! May hashem bless them with hatzlacha in all that they do! On the other hand, #21 is bringing up a good point. I would like to note that the Morristown Yeshiva for baalei teshiva – Tiferes Bachurim does not allow they students to learn smicha for the same reason. You are welcome to call and ask them. One of their staff members explained to me that the title rabbi should not be given… Read more »
I agree with comment 21.
I live in Los Angeles, daven in Levi Yitzchak where these boys “learn”, and see them nearly every day.
Why the emphasis on semicha for these tweeners? Why can’t the program just be about teaching them hadracha and the basics of Yiddishkeit which they clearly are in need of?
Bestowing the title “rabbi” upon them is an insult to those who took their learning seriously and respect the title of “rabbi.”
keep up the great work! thanks for stepping up to make a difference!
hatzlacha in all u do!
every year the group changes
rivky, keep up your good work.

Oh I’m sorry almighty and awesome one
Smicha is only for the holy ones amongst us? I always heard the Rebbe say “make sure no one but Tzaddikim learn smicha”
In fact its like Kabbalah – you can only learn it after 40 etc.
Do me a favor – the Torah is ours! it belongs to everyone – stop telling people what parts of Torah they may and may not learn
I would rather one of these Bochurim as my Rabbi then you.
Gooooooooo Daniel
Who defines what is ‘up’ and what is ‘down’?? Maybe these ‘teiere n’shomos’ who are cast aside bec. of petty reasons are bringing smicha ‘up’ and the ‘mr. perfects’ who can rest on their laurels due to good reputation or great outward appearance, are making smicha/torah in general their EXCLUSIVE ‘badge of honor’ that is only reserved for the chosen holy bachurim. Judging from the outside is unproductive,if you want to make a difference or improve the program why don’t you roll up your sleeves & help them..from what I understand the little staff they have are working 24/7 to… Read more »
#21………….You should be ashamed of your comment! Learn some Tanya and let it sink in!
just because your a hater, are you gonna put down wilkes-barre too? because it is pretty much the same thing, i was there, for a couple of years, and it did better to me than any other mainstream yeshiva i went too. all the mainstream yeshivas do alot more harm and dont get credited for that cuz they fake it all the way through. why not show true colors and still do the best you can with growing ruchniusly and gashmiusly. so now i see what ohr elchonon made you into, a self centered, closed minded dude who knows nothing… Read more »
you should be ashamed of yourself!
this is a good, beautiful thing!
go dun go !!!! we love you and miss ya !! way 2 go !!!
most of these boys are NOT shidduch age….unless you have 15 and 16 yr old girls in mind….
go dun go !!!!
These kids should NOT be learning smicha. This brings everyone who learns smicha down.
Maybe they should make a place for guys where they can wake up late with trips, and just get the basics of Judaism.
I’m saying this only because I personally witnessed them while I was in LA learning a couple years ago.
I have to agree with #3
This is in sane. In betweeners?? Come on…
more people should be aware ofthis program
absolute a neccesity
Tweeners…http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tweeners
Go Kanar Boy !!! Havent seen you in a While good work
this program works because there is a woman involved…
Kudos to Mrs. Katz and the other mothers for organizing a Yeshiva that talks the language of these wonderful Bochurim and really puts them on their two feet for a beautiful productive future. Keep up your good work and may you have much continued success!
Rivky Katz, you’re doing a great job. Keep it up and Hatzlacha.

Spotted you at 3:00.
All the best.
S.C.
Ps: regards from my husband!
All the brochas to you and your program, and all the individuals involved. It’s not just thinking out of the box, but making a larger box so everyone can fit inside.
you gotta love the name!
Hi I’m a shadchan and would love if you could post the names of these boys or tell me where I could find out their names. I have many girls who would suit “inbetweeners”.
Thanks
wow!
These are the real chassidishe bochurim, men mont pnimius, its not all about chitsonius
