After 10 years learning Chasidus, it’s like learning for the first time! WHy can’t yeshivos teach Chasidus like this? In a way that is actually understandable!
…and I always thought that Tanya is a sefer for and of Avoidas Hashem. Now I am being told that the “true” (and only?) way to learn it, is to understand that it is all based on one question. “Do you love me?” “I think I love you.” “Yes. It’s Tradition, Tradition.” Has the fiddler fallen off the roof? So by mental and intellectual calisthenics, we are delving into the true pupose of Tanya? MAMESH A TZADDIK MIN HASHAMAYIM!!!
In terms of originality and creative thinking, this man has no equal.
His way of thinking is so out of the box and truly brilliant. he takes a concept..flips it over and around in a way that you have never and would never have thought of and ironically makes it make much more sense then ever before.
I once heard Rabbi Friedman elaborate that the the first part of Tanya, Sefer shel beinonim, addresses the issue of “having a heart” and the second part of Tanya, Shaar HaYichud v’haemuna, addresses our perception of G-d, and that is why they are referred to as Chelek alef and chelek beis of Tanya. Brilliant.
Rabbi Manis Friedman is Brilliant. I have uncovered Priceless Gold Nuggets in his lectures. We are truly Blessed to be a part of Rabbi Manis Wisdom. Shalom Aleichem!
One more point the AR explains is what is love? Until you know what love is, you don’t really know if you love or not. It could be that what you think is love is really hate…
Rabbi Manis is a treasure, and and an inspiration.
This man is a genius. I am learning Tanya for decades, and never quite saw it quite that way.
I’ll be getting a set of this.
