The flyer announcing the Lag BaOmer Family Fun Day of Chabad in Utah on Tuesday next week promised “exciting competitions.”
A preview of that is already available online.
The event of Jewish unity, marking the yartzeit of the sage Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, will include a BBQ Food Truck, inflatables and a dodgeball game at the city American Fork.
To promote it, Rabbi Benny Zippel and his sons Rabbi Avremi Zippel and Rabbi Chaim Zippel were filmed playing dodgeball themselves around the Chabad center in Salt Lake City.
“It’s gonna be a ball!” they wrote about the reel of them engaging in the fun game in the lobby, sanctuary, and near the food truck.
The clip has drawn enthusiastic comments. “The best Chabad video yet,” wrote Hinda S. “That is awesome,” wrote Annie T.
Chabad centers around the world will be holding outdoor celebrations in honor of Lag BaOmer. In larger communities, parades and concerts are held in the spirit of Jewish unity and pride.
