The ringleader of a gang of teens accused of allegedly violently attacking and robbing two Jewish boys in Crown Heights was arrested on Wednesday in Crown Heights. The boy, who is 14 years old, was arrested after he was identified in surveillance footage of the attack.
The teen is seen violently punching the victim in the face in the video of the attack. He is the fourth perpetrator to be arrested in connection with the attack in Crown Heights last March.
The first arrest was a 16-year-old boy who was arrested in the 77th Precinct area. He has at least 6 prior arrests, police said.
The teens were part of a group of 6 thugs who attacked and violently mugged two Jewish boys on March 14 in Crown Heights.
The victims were walking on Albany Avenue near Crown Street at approximately 9:15 PM when the group of 6 black teens approached them from behind, police said.
The victims heard the teens say to ‘get them,’ before they approached one of the victims and demanded he give them what was in his pockets. They then punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, police said.
Bystanders called Hatzalah, who transported the first victim to the hospital where he was treated for a broken nose and other broken bones in his face.
The NYPD 71st Precinct detectives have been investigating the case, and had been searching for the other perpetrators and the ringleader of the group.
Rabbi Chanina Sperlin of the CHJCC says he and Rabbi Eli Cohen of the CHJCC and other community activists are involved to bring evidence of the violent nature of the attack, in which both victims were physically attacked, and which left one victim heavily bruised with several broken bones in his face.
“We are relieved that this thug has been arrested and is off the streets for now,” said Chanina Sperlin. “Thanks to Governor Hochul’s recently announced changes to the justice system, hopefully he will remain off the streets.”
Hope he sits a longggg time!!!!
NYC is run by pro-crime crazy Democrats.
He’ll be out tomorrow
there would be protests and violence towards us
what are we gonna do
time to step up and fight for our rights
or soon we won’t feel free to walk the schuna
He won’t sit even one day in jail.
All the others that participated are off the hook? Don’t answer that, I already know.
I believe as each one was arrested, Shomrim & COL put out a statement. 4 arrested in total. The other 2 are probably not worth going after since they didn’t assault & the charges would stick either way. Unfortunately the way it is in NYC
Elections have consequences.

He’s only 14 years old!!! If he’s doing these terrible crimes at such a young age imagine what he could be capable of when he is older! There must be rules set in place to imprison people of this kind so they don’t have a chance to do more.
A “problem” is his age. He’s big enough and old enough to commit a crime and cause harm and damage but society considers him a minor who usually gets barely a slap on the wrist. We’re dealing with damaged goods here. The perpetrators have are growing within a system that condones such behavior. Imagine if the victims were adults and they fought back and seriously injured one of the assailants. We could be dealing with the victims facing a serious charge and prison time, while the other assailant running back to their crib (which is actually what they call it)… Read more »
