Last night Bais Menachem of Miami Beach hosted a very well attended Farbrengen in honor of Chof Daled Teves.
Over 200 people attended the event. The mara d’asra, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Schapiro gave the opening talk, by explaining the uniqueness of this year, by being the start of the 200th year of the yahrzeit of the Alter Rebbe.
He mentioned the “shturem” the Rebbe made in 1962-63 when it was shnas “HaKan”, the 150th yahrzeit of the Alter Rebbe. He also spoke some of the time in Yiddish in order to accommodate some of the different Chassidim that attended.
Afterwards the guest speaker, Rabbi Moshe Wolfson, mashgiach ruchni of the yeshiva Torah V’Daas and Rav of Emunas Yisrael Congregation gave a very moving and interesting talk.
He quoted from writings of the Rebbe’s father, Chassidus, Kabbalah, Gemoro and explained how chassidus teaches that Hashem wants us to bring the highest levels of ruchnius to even the Jew who is far away from Torah.
Rabbi Leibel Altein, the Chief Editor of Chassidus Mevueres and Dean of Heichal Menachem of Boro Park attended. Rabbi Pinchas Weberman spoke about the greatness of Chassidus Chabad.

It is wonderful that we started accepted gedolim and geonim from “other” neighborhoods. The yeshiva world has long recognized the gadlus of Rav Wolfson and it is nice to see chabad trying to catch up.
