Family and friends of the Shagalow family gathered Sunday for a Torah completion ceremony in memory of beloved Crown Heights community member Ettie Shagalow at her 26th Yartzeit.
The writing of the final letters of the new Torah, which was dedicated by her children, took place at the Shagalow home.
This was followed by a parade with live music and traditional Hakafos at the Besht Center at 563 Empire Blvd in Crown Heights.
Such a tragedy. I was asked once to help a little girl say Yizkor in shul – it was Etty’s AH youngest child. I had had my father for 40 years, but she never got the chance. But I’m sure the nachas her children give is a huge comfort, may the family only know of simchos.
thank you for sharing with us Mazel Tov
Wonderful to see so many of the Shagalow family at this really special simcha. It should be an aliyas neshama for Etty and a zechus for Meishy and all the children and ainiklach.
Thank you shmira for being there and make sure it’s safe
