This story is exactly as reb michoel said. moshe Groner did not look at the mareh mikomos nor did the rebbe ask him to look them up all he did was call the hospital and wait for the doctor to pick up. In the other room he noticed allot of sforim open from all the rebbeim. Only later did he stop to think that maybe that was the rebbe preparing for the maamar. however there is tendincy to exaggerate stories. As heard from moshe Groner himself
If I remember correctly, I heard this from Rabbi Leibel Groner Sh”lita, whoever encounters him can corroborate:
Once the doctor picked up the phone, the Rebbe went to speak to him and told him about a certain patient who needed his help. The doctor told the Rebbe that he would only go see this patient if the Rebbe came along with him.
Hence, the Rebbe put on his coat and instructed R’ Moshe Groner with a list of Mar’e Mekomos to find and open to be ready by the time the Rebbe gets back…
The Rebbe Told Rabbi Groner to look up up certain seforim. the Rebbe left certain pages and book title and told Rabbi Groner to take them down and put them on his desk. Rabbi Groner noticed they were each a classic work of all the Rabbeim.
As heard from a relative. It is also recorded on vov Tishrei in the Hayom Yom Tackling Life’s Tasks
Wasn’t just to get the doctor on the phone, it was to check a long list of sources and mark them in the open books while the Rebbe was out visiting this patient. At least that’s the version I heard.
My father had told me the patient was Daniel lampert a chashuve Talmud chacham in crown heights who had a nervous breakdown weeks prior
As mentioned in ימי בראשית, the Rebbe had Yechidus the night of Yud Shevat תשי״א – including Yechidus with many Anash from Montreal
very nice!!!
do we know who he visited and anything about it?
