Rabbi Shalom Ber Schapiro is continuing to share instructive material from the Nissan Mindel Archives in preparation for the Yom Hilulah, Gimmel Tammuz.
The Rebbe’s directives regarding the Yom Hilulah of the Frierdiker Rebbe, Yud Shvat are a lesson for us today as we prepare for Gimmel Tammuz.
A handwritten note by the Rebbe, which he initials מ.ש., where he explains the importance of a Yom Hilulah.
A letter by the Rebbe on כ”ה טבת, התשי”א, on Merkos stationery, in which he tells the writer that he will read his “note”/פ”נ at the ציון (resting place) of the Frierdiker Rebbe. The Rebbe explains that a tzaddik who leaves this world is now more present in this world than when he was alive and he will surely give you his brocho … (this is the beginning of the Rebbe’s accepting pannim/notes and reading them at the tziyun – a custom which became familiar to us over the years, when the Rebbe would customarily answer “azkir al ha’tziyun.”)
Two telegrams (5711)
1. To the public the world over
2. To a shliach (Morocco)
With instructions on what to do during the upcoming first yartzeit/yom hilulo י’ שבט
Letter to Anash and Talmidei Ha’Temimim ר”ח שבט, תשי”א
Encouraging everyone for the upcoming first yartzeit, Yud Shvat to make gatherings and farbreingens, to learn the Bosi L’Gani Ma’amar and in general get inspiration and become vessels for abundant blessings. The Rebbe signs his full name (this is not usual).
