I am deeply saddened that a synagogue al out 100 years old will now be no longer. This is part of the history of the Jews in your area. Heartbreaking to destroy the sanctuary. Will the facade re ain’t in tact at least?

It's the halachically correct thing to do

See Gemara Megillah 27a. A mikvah is more important than a shul. In this instance, this was the only way the Mikva could be built. In such a case, halacha not only allows, but demands that this be done.
The facade will remain.

Long Live the Heiligeh Vilna!!

According to the article and the Mikvah’s instagram, the shul will move to the second floor of the building. What a beautiful zchus for the Philly community to double the holiness of Vilna shul!
Having gone to this shul for years as a child, Vilna was always a warm, wonderful and welcoming place. Young families growing around the spiritual center of this city, what a beautiful way to see it come full circle.

Go Mei Shalva!!!!
