G-d bless Canada!
Iranian government officials are worried that more countries will follow Canada’s brave example and cut their diplomatic relations.
Hasan Sobhaninia from Iran’s parliament committee on security and foreign policy predicted there “is the possibility” of others making the same decision as Ottawa, AP reported, quoting the Mehr news agency.
Canada’s surprise move on Friday to close its embassy in Tehran and order Iranian diplomats to leave Canada won praise from Israel.
“We have to build a wall, not of silence, but of condemnation and resolve. Canada just put a very big brick in that wall that is necessary for the peace of the world,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
Speaking to the CBC station, Netahyahu called the decision by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird a “clarion call to action.”
Baird said Iran was “among the world’s worst violators of human rights; and it shelters and materially supports terrorist groups.”
The Conservative statesman accused Iran of supporting Syria’s embattled President Bashar Assad and “routinely threatens the existence of Israel and engages in racist anti-Semitic rhetoric and incitement to genocide.”
Baird and Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews announced that Canada has listed both Iran and Syria as states that support terrorism.
Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has often denied the Holocaust and calls for the destruction of Israel.
The United States and Britain have none or minimal diplomatic ties with Iran.
Most European countries maintain a diplomatic presence in Tehran despite increased tensions over European Union sanctions that block imports of Iranian oil, AP said.

Especially since they are the lone dissenter in the Western world. But I hope this appropriate appreciation on the part of Israel won’t lead to the attitude that we depend on other countries for survival. We won our battles specifically when we were alone and not relying on anyone.
Its time Chabad did something to honour (Canadian spelling) our Prime Minister, it would be a wonderful gesture.
Am yisrael desperately need friends like this.
When Netanyahu came to Ottawa a few months back the PM ordered that Canadian and Israel flags be flying all along the motorcade route to parliament Hill..!!
To all you Americans, cmon !! get yourselves a real leader like we have ..!!
Eliyahu in Ottawa, Canada
To all Canadians,
Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative government is the best that Canada has had in years, both for internal and external matters. Our economy is BH great, particularly in comparison to other first world countries.
Please show your hakoras hatoyv to him and his party in the next election! Vote for your local Conservative candidate! (And I give my word, I am in no way whatsoever a noygayah bedovor).
Even in Australia where almost all of our Prime Ministers are virtually unique , in their strong level of support for Israel ,
we must admit that we have never experienced the level of loyal support that you recieve from your Canadian PM ,
The Rt. Honourable Stephen Harper.
He should retain his position until Moshiach Tzidkeinu and beyond.

Once again Canada takes an unpopular stance. This PM is a born leader with principles and values. Not scared, worried or looking behind his back what others are saying or doing. This is why he was he won a majority govt. People want strong leaders, not whimps!!!
What an Ohev Yisroel! To order Canada’s embassy closed in Tehran and kick out Iranian diplomats in Canada are signs of a true leader. Bibi agrees. Does anyone see Moshiach coming?

Best country in the world. Represent!
As a born and raised Lubavitcher Canadian, I have seen many Prime Ministers lead our beautiful country over the years. Our current Prime Minister, The Rt. Honourable Stephen Harper is by far the best we’ve had so far. His courage to stand behind Israel and denounce terrorism, to work on abolishing anti-semitism at home and abroad, to fight for all Jews’ rights at home and around the world, to speak the truth and take the proper and moral action even if it will hurt his reputation, is truly a blessing to all Jewish people and indeed all people around the… Read more »
