An announcement by Lubavitch Youth Organization (LYO – Tzach) of New York:
One of the most well known and beloved campaigns that the Rebbe placed in the hands of Tzach is the mivtza of Tahalucha.
For over 55 years, countless anash and bochurim have walked to hundreds of shuls throughout New York City three times a year, to be m’sameach yidden and to be meifitz the mayanos of chassidus.
In recent years, after seeing the tremendous success Tahalucha has been having in being mekarev yidden to chassidus, Tzach has begun putting increased time, effort, and funds into making Tahalucha as flawless and effective as possible.
Addresses of shuls were researched and corrected to ensure that memunim would arrive at their intended destinations. Details regarding the size, language, and “style” (among other things) of the mispallelim in each shul were documented so that speakers could be chosen who would have the ideal impact.
Shuls are called to confirm time and length of speech. Papers are distributed in 770 the night before each Tahalucha with information about each shul, past memunim and speeches given.
What we are asking from the klal are a few simple but crucial things that can help us ensure Tahalucha’s success. Please read and keep in mind the following points:
1. Please be responsible about going to “your” shul. Keep in mind that every shul that a memune is sent to (especially those where a drasha will be given) was called and scheduled in advance.
Many shuls set aside and publicize the time that “Lubavitch” is coming. Not showing up causes an embarrassment to the shul and an even greater embarrassment to Lubavitch. If you absolutely cannot make it to the shul please find a responsible replacement. Our connection to the shul and the continuation of hafatzas hamayanos to this kehilla depends on you.
2. Please help us update our database. Any information regarding the shul that seems different from the information you received must be documented so that mistakes will not happen again the next yom tov. Please fill this information out in your duch and/or give us a call or text to 347-709-2551 to let us know.
3. Please be sensitive to the mispallelim in the shul. Join in on their niggunim, without insisting on niggunim they do not know. We are there to inspire them.
If you would like to be a memuneh for Simchas Torah, or if you have any questions or information regarding Tahalucha, we can be reached at 347-709-2551.
Through the hachlatos tovos in the inyan of tahalucha, we should be zoche to the Rebbe leading us on the greatest Tahalucha to the Beis Hamikdash now!
