Rabbi Yekusiel Farkash, a Jerusalem posek proficient in explaining halacha to the masses, will be hosting a seminar for Shluchim in the Tri State area which will include 12 classes.
The courses are similar to the ones he has already given in Australia, Russia, France, Belgium, California, Israel and New York, but this series is said to be more elaborate.
Starting on Sunday, 23 Cheshvan (November 20) through Wednesday, 26 Cheshvan (November 23), Rabbi Farkash will deliver 3 to 4 shiurim every day (each between an hour and a half to 2 hours) in halachah, with focus on practical application.
“The Shiurim will give the proper background knowledge in Halachah,” says Rabbi Pesach Schmerling, Director of Chabad of Far Rockaway in NY who is helping to coordinate the seminar.
“It will give you the Klolim and how to apply them in various real life situations in your private homes and in Chabad House settings,” he added.
Among the topics to be discussed (but not limited to these, suggestions are welcome): Medicine on Shabbos, how to ask a non Jew’s help on Shabbos, Bishul on Shabbos and preparing food on Shabbos.
The fee is $200 (which might be reduced depending on number of participants).
To register please email halachahseminar@gmail.com (deadline for registration Tuesday, 27 Tishrei).

It was time! Despite the wonderful work Shluchim all over the world are doing, we cannot deny this sad truth: many don’t know pmuch about practical Halacha! It’s time to change that, as this lack of knowledge sometimes leads to situations which are opposed to the Halacha!
