The entire Jewish community is invited to the South Florida Tribute to the Eternal Torah and “Hakhel” Unity Gathering, Sunday, June 14, 2009, 7:30 PM, at the Broward Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The historic and inspirational evening celebrates the 25th anniversary of the daily study of the teachings of Maimonides, whose seminal work Mishne Torah encompasses the entire scope of Torah law and scholarship. It was instituted by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, who initiated the daily study of Maimonides’ teachings by hundreds of thousands of men, women and children throughout the globe.
The evening will also commemorate the upcoming 15th anniversary of the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, (may his merit protect us in all our endeavors).
The Tribute will include a live satellite address by Rabbi Yisroel Meir Lau, former Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi of Israel, about the uniqueness of this year, the year of “Hakhel” – Jewish Unity and gathering.
The evening will also feature a cantorial performance by renowned cantors, delicious refreshments and leading Rabbis and community leaders. There will be a Siyum (Completion) of Maimonides’ Mishne Torah.
Admission is free of charge and open to men, women and children. Every participant will leave inspired and with a special souvenir memento. The doors will be open from 7 PM .
