The Chesed Center Soup Kitchen was officially re-opened this past Sunday, and is once again serving a satisfying and nutritious dinner to dozens of needy members of the Crown Heights community.
Rabbi Yossie Simon, the new director of the Chesed Center Soup Kitchen, announced that during the past few weeks, major improvements have been implemented to ensure that needs of the community will be met. Prior to the Chesed Center Soup Kitchen closing for Pesach, more than 80 individuals, including widows, orphans, the un-employed and others, came to the center for their evening meal. Unfortunately, this was more than expected, and some had to be turned away.
With the reorganization, and with Rabbi Simon at the helm, they are confidant that any member of the community who comes to the Chesed Center will be served in a pleasant and warm environment.
The Chesed Center is located at 271 Kingston Avenue, and is open Sunday – Thursday from 5pm to 8pm.
