Amongst the millions of New Yorkers stranded in a historic snowstorm are several hundred Chassidim who had the opportunity of spending a beautiful Shabbos at the Rebbe’s resting place in Queens, NY.
As most Shabbosim, this week saw several hundred Bochurim, Shluchim, and Anash families. This week, groups from Yeshivas in Tzfas, Pennsylvania and France, as well as two bar mitzvas, a choson’s kiddush, and a number of heads of Mosdos, “zochei b’goral” (winners of community lotteries which send the winner to represent them at the Rebbe’s Ohel) are presently extending their Shabbos into its 28th hour.
In addition to the many Farbrengens held on Shabbos in the four “tents” at the Ohel now continuing well into the night, the first tent is now playing host to its third impromptu “Hakhel” since Shabbos.
Rabbi Elkana Shmotkin of JEM spoke and took questions about JEM’s newest projects and developments.
Mashpia Rabbi Yossi Paltiel and Port Washington Shliach Rabbi Sholom Moshe Paltiel spoke as well.
“The spirit of Hakhel will continue in the Rebbe’s Daled Amos,” said one attendee.
It’s nice to see Yeshivah Ketana Ukraine using the extra time to farbreng. Hope you make your flight back.
Using a storm to Farbreng!
