Rabbi Moshe Bryski and his wife Matty, Shluchim at Chabad of the Conejo in California, came through at the last minute for United States Army soldiers at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, providing Kosher Seder plates for the recent Pesach holiday.
Chaplain Major Moshe Lans, who sustains his Active Duty 1st Armored Brigade, was at Fort Irwin for War Games and had ordered ready-to-eat kosher l’Pesach meals and several Seder plates.
However, the Seder food never arrived. He contacted his wife, who is close friends with the Bryskis, for help, as she was at Chabad of the Conejo for Pesach.
Within 30 minutes, Rabbi Bryski and his wife supplied Mrs. Lans with everything needed for several Seder Plates.
“Rabbi and Mrs. Bryski quickly jumped to help, and acted like it was nothing, yet we know what an effort it really was,” Mrs. Lans said.
Mrs. Lans drove the Seder supplies to Fort Irwin. Chaplain Major Lans then handed out the plates to fellow Jewish soldiers just before Pesach as well as many shmurah matzoh boxes.
“This act of Chesed truly uplifted the Jewish soldiers, as they felt that people in this country care for them and their ability to keep the Mitzvos of Pesach,” said Chaplain Major Lans.
Way to go Chaplain Lans and Rabbi and Rebbitzen Bryski! What you did for those Soldiers they will never forget!
