Shadchanim to Answer Questions

Announcement by the Shidduch Coaching Center:

Over the past decade, Rabbi Yitzchok Dubov has been helping people with their shidduchim. More recently, he has spent countless hours speaking to people about the struggles they face in all areas of dating: Soliciting suggestions from shadchanim, properly reading resumes, researching, the dates themselves, and of course, answering the question “How do I know?”

The more people he counseled, the more he found that the same questions were coming up, and found himself repeating the answers time and again.

BH, many have been helped by Rabbi Dubov, whose approach is a combination of simple guidance, a listening ear, and the Eitzos found in the Rebbe’s letters.

One woman wrote: “Rabbi Dubov (our shadchan, family mentor, and close friend) is an incredible resource! He not only kept me sane throughout the dating process, and helped me remain focused on the right things (i.e. making sure I didn’t pass up on the chance of a lifetime), he also remained in touch and was a huge help after the engagement.”

Rabbi Dubov then asked himself, “This information has helped so many, why should we limit it to a few people? These vital answers and clear direction can be distilled and offered on a large scale.”

Thus he approached iLearn with the idea to launch the groundbreaking Complete Shidduchim Course.

Mrs. Sara Labkowski, founder and director of Machon Chana and founder of iLearn, with decades of experience coaching people through shidduchim, keen insight into people’s needs and personalities and her experience as a mother of many married children, Bli Ayin Hara, agreed to partner with Rabbi Dubov in developing the comprehensive curriculum for the course.

In addition to being a cutting edge course, developed by experienced coaches presenting information most vital and practical enabling the girls to make the right choices in a clear and empowered manner, the innovation that sets this course apart from others available is the brand new Shidduchim Coaching Center that was founded along with the course.

The center offers professional, discreet, and personal guidance for young men or woman, who can make an appointment with a caring and experienced shidduch coach for an over the phone or in person session and receive the help needed the at this crucial time in their lives. We hope this offering will become a true resource so young men and women can navigate dating in a stress-free way.

The first of six sessions of the Complete Shidduchim Course took place January 5th, and BH was a resounding success with close to 40 young women in attendance.

Subsequent sessions covered topics such as the Hashkafa and Spirituality of Marriage, “Who Am I?”, “What Do I Need in a Husband?”, and the Shidduchim Process from start to finish.

The Course was highly rated in feedback surveys. One girl wrote: “The seminar was informative, inspiring, and most of all a boost of bitachon during this confusing stage. It is good to talk about these things and hear healthy Torah hashkafos on a topic that is hard to navigate.”

This Sunday night, the final part of the Complete Shidduchim Course will be a groundbreaking venture in which local Shadchanim and coaches will answer the girls’ most burning questions.

The panel will be comprised of local shadchanim including: Mrs. Sheindel Blasberg and Dr. Elka Pinson. Coaches include: Rabbi Yitzchok Dubov and Mrs. Sara Labkowski. The Shidduch Coaching Center is also endorsed by shadchanim Leah Gansburg and Esther Caplan.

We are inviting all girls in the community for a chance to get your questions answered by a panel of Shadchanim and coaches, as well as get to know Shadchanim and network with coaches.

Some of the questions that will be addressed by the panel are: What is important to include in resume? What process do Shadchanim actively engage in to help us find a Shidduch? What can I do (without being a pest) to actually get a shidduch? What do you charge? and much more.

The Shadchanim Panel Event will take place on Sunday, February 9 at 8 PM at 556 Crown St. It costs $15 at the door or $10 online here/

Additional creative solutions to Shidduchim challenges are being developed. The Shidduch Coaching Center plans to offer a The Complete Shidduchim Course for Parents, addressing issues such as proper research, how to align your search with your child’s needs and more.

In addition, to give a boost to Shidduchim, the Center plans to host a Mother and Prospective Bride Luncheon, for mothers with sons and girls in Shidduchim to mingle and meet.
