As the world this week focuses on Russia, this week’s entire Living Torah program circles around a 1968 visit to the Rebbe by Rabbi Yehuda Levin, the Chief Rabbi of Moscow.
Rabbi Levin, who was accompanied on his official visit by a Soviet Government “minder,” had a Yechidus with the Rebbe. The meeting was recorded, and is presented on the program.
In a surprising turning of the tables, the Rebbe defends the rabbi after his visit, challenging those who confronted the rabbi during the visit, and accusing them of hypocrisy.
The My Encounter segment features an interview with Rabbi Levin’s granddaughter, who had her own Yechidus with the Rebbe many years later.
The Rebbe disclosed a secret about her grandfather’s visit, how the Rebbe’s staff tricked the KGB in a case of “Chabad cloak and dagger.”
Thanks, it was great! 🙂
