The Shluchim Office is pleased to announce our most recent sponsor to the Scholarship Fund for children attending the Lilian & Meyer Nigri Shluchim Online School for boys and the Shluchim Online School for girls.
David Schottenstein joins Ben Federman, Motti Korf and Uri Laber (as well as the donors of the CIS division of this fund, Lev Leviev and Yitzchok Michean) as a founding member of this new scholarship fund working to reduce the financial burden of tuition on shluchim throughout the world.
Schottenstein, CEO of Astor & Black Custom Clothing, has made this pledge in memory of Alta Shula Swerdlow A”H, daughter of shluchim Rabbi Yossi & Hindel Swerdlow of Kfar Chabad, Israel.
The Shluchim Online School Scholarship Fund, which was launched during the most recent Kinus Hashluchim 5771, continues to attract new partners. As Mr. Schottenstein said himself, it was the contribution of other partners which encouraged him to do the same, and he hopes others will draw similar inspiration.
The Shluchim Online School is directed by Rabbi Moshe Shemtov, who notes that the Scholarship Fund is currently in the process of accepting scholarship forms from hundreds of shluchim. The Scholarship Committee will shortly be meeting to determine the best distribution of funds.
If you are a shliach and have a child enrolled in the Shluchim Online School, please submit your scholarship form ASAP if you wish to be considered.
‘successful bussiness life where money is assured to you.’ Nothing is ever assured to you. It is in the hands of Hkb”H how successful a business man, or Shliach, one is. Bottom line is, kol hakovoad to these philanthropists for supporting chinuch and shluchim. Our own Chinuch mosdos (ULY, OT, bais rivkah etc.) should continue trying to get our own homegrown philanthropists to give back as well. At the end of the day, our young ones that decide to go into chinuch are from the highest caliber and end up getting paid the least – that is where we all… Read more »
you ignored the fact that times are very hard economically and we need some kind of fund right here in our daled amos, plus money is not a sure thing just because you may be in business or work for one
Tuition is hard everywhere! Now imagine your child had no other school to attend and this is his only interation with frum kids.
Choosing to go on Shlichus you limit yourself to a successful bussiness life where money is assured to you. On shlichus that doesn’t always happen. So if you want a fund in CH start your own fund! Plus your schools are very understanding and assist greatly with tuition breaks.
they are shluchim in jerusalem, not kfar chabad
Very Nice! What is being done for families that are struggling with tuition right here in CrownHeights. It really is so hard for them too especially with the poor economy.
Keep it up David! Brochoh vehatzlovhoh
try to really help shluchim minimize the tuition instead of helping the mosad itself they look to help each shliach, WE LOVE YOU
Keep up the good work cuz’! Hashem should bless you, Eda and the gantze mishopocho manifold for your incredible Chassodim!!!
