Young and old Crown Heights residents joined a hachnosas Sefer Torah ceremony this Sunday in memory of Mrs. Pesya Leah Lapine HY”D.
Known for her genuine hospitality and kindness, the mother of four and a beloved wife was killed Al Kiddush Hashem on the second of Adar 1 5752 at the young age of 39.
The Rebbe spoke at length of her great merit, and made a point to personally attend her funeral.
19 years later, her children completed a Sefer Torah in her memory which was entered into the main shul of 770 Eastern Parkway.
A full seuda was later held at Maple St. Shul where the Lapine family thanked friends of the family who have stayed beside them throughout the years.

I will never forget how the Rebbe spoke after Mrs. Lapine was killed–the Rebbe cried for her and for her children, and spoke with all the pain of a father raging against the loss of this precious mother to her family. To Mrs. Lapine’s children: your mother is not forgotten!
we love you jack!
