Professional Orthodox Jewish boxer Dmitriy Salita enjoyed a change of scenery as he spent Shabbos and Independence Day weekend with his wife and friends in Upstate New York’s Catskill Mountains.
Rigorously training for hours each day in Brooklyn for an upcoming match, the former junior welterweight champ enjoyed the serene environment of the Sunshine Bungalow colony in South Fallsburg, New York.
He was warmly greeted by the colony’s residents and spent part of the day learning with Rabbi Hillel Laufer of Crown Heights.
The Ukrainian-born Salita, a student of Flatbush Shliach Rabbi Zalman Liberow, was recently included in The Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36” young Jewish leaders list and attended the White House reception for Jewish Heritage Month.
Asked about his weekend in the Catskills, Salita told COLlive.com: “Shabbos plays a big role in my spiritual preparation for my fights.”

to those who question the papparazi – maybe, just maybe , mr salita wants this publicity and the phtographer WANTS his photos publicized and this is simply an ad for a boxer and a photographer.

There will be a good lesson for Your students if You will tell them How great is a Lubavitcher Rebbe and all Chabad Movement in ganeral, if a Ukranian Jewish boy -boxer daven with two pairs of Teffilns, learning Likudei Torah and more,more and more.
