The Israeli community of Hollywood, Florida, came out in unity in honor of the celebration of the inauguration of a Torah scroll to the city’s Chabad House for Israelis.
The Chabad House is headed by Rabbi Yossi Raskin who, together with his wife Nava, are successfully conducting activities for the third consecutive year. The special Torah scroll was written in memory of the Shliach’s mother, Mrs. Henya Rivka Raskin OBM, and is an important milestone in establishing Jewish activity for Israelis in a region that is rapidly growing, in cooperation with Shluchim Rabbi Zalman Korf and Rabbi Yossi Korf.
The event was attended by the head Shliach to Florida, Rabbi Abraham Korf, his son the Shliach to the area, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Korf, and Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus, the Shliach to South Broward, alongside the Shluchim of the Raskin family, father Rabbi Yehoshua Raskin, Rabbi Aryeh Zeev Raskin and Rabbi Eli Raskin, who came from out of town to celebrate the exciting event together with members of the community.
The Torah was completed with friends and supporters writing the final letters, and the Torah was then led with joyous singing and dancing through the streets, to a celebration in the Chabad Center.
