An article in the upcoming monthly edition of “Der Chassidisher Derher” magazine brings an unprecedented glimpse into a global Chanukah broadcast celebration that the Rebbe participated in, known as Chanukah Live.
This event, spearheaded by Rabbi Abraham Shemtov, Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad International, used satellite technology to interlink Chanukah events around the world with the Rebbe standing at the one in 770 Eastern Parkway.
In order to bring this event to fruition, Jewish Educational Media (JEM) founder Rabbi Hillel Dovid Krinsky needed to coordinate thirteen satellites and countless other technical details.
After months of intense preparation, Krinsky presented the Rebbe with a chart, which displayed the flow of the satellites and the video broadcast around the world.
A short while later the Rebbe wrote back a response which is being published for the very first time.
The reply reads:
ויהא בהצלחה רבה וכו‘ והזמ“ג [והזמן גרמא] והענין גרמא וכו‘ ויבש“ט ואח“כ מההמשך וכו‘
“May it be with much success. The time is opportune and the idea is appropriate. May you report good news [from the program itself] and then from the follow up etc.”
Rabbi Shemtov later published a stunning album describing Chanukah Live and had an artist design a graphical imitation of this diagram. This drawing is featured as the cover photo of the Derher magazine.
The magazine, published monthly by Vaad Hatmimim Haolomi also brings a rich variety of Chassidishe content particularly regarding Chanukah and Hey Teves.
The magazine can be downloaded, or ordered on Derher.org

I read this publication during Tishrei and would love to receive this publication at my house. Does anyone know how i can go about this?
You all work so hard to bring such a pure and special publication to the world and you do not even take any credit.
What does Derher mean? People keep asking me and I have no clue.
It sounds Yiddish.
That’s beautiful
