Rav Wolfson Writes About Siddur

Rabbi Moshe Wolfson, revered Mashgiach Ruchani of Mesivta Torah Vodaath and Rav of Beis Medrash Emunas Yisrael in Brooklyn, has given all out praise for a new Chabad siddur.

“I glanced through the pages of the wonderful sefer ‘Siddur Illuminated by Chassidus’ and my eyes lit up,” writes Rabbi Wolfson about the new nusach Ari siddur with commentary in English compiled by Rabbi Eliyahu Touger and Rabbi Sholom Ber Wineberg.

Prayer is a topic close to Rabbi Wolfson’s heart, he has inspired three generations of students through personal example and through his uplifting shmuessen talks on the topic which were compiled into the book “Service of the Heart – The beauty and essence of Tefillah based on the teachings of Rabbi Moshe Wolfson.”

The creation of the 310-page hardcover siddur which can be used for learning as well as praying was the brainchild of Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, Head Shliach of Maryland, as he was learning the meaning of prayer verses with his friend and supporter, R’ Yaakov Cohen.

“Each and every section in the sefer is a flame of fire from the holy hearts of the Rebbes of Chabad in their generations, and ignites and inspires the Jewish soul for prayer,” Rabbi Wolfson wrote to Rabbi Kaplan.

Written ahead of the siddur being sent to print by Kehot Publication Society and Sichot In English, Rabbi Wolfson wrote: “I am waiting for the appearance of this sefer in its glory.” He added that it will surely find “paths to chassidus and complete emuna in the hearts of its users.”

He ended with a blessing to Rabbi Kaplan that he “merit to continue for many more years to ignite the spark of the holy faith on the path of chassidus in the hearts of tens of thousands and merit for Jewish and chassidic nachas from all offsprings and students and with all Israel may we merit soon to the complete redemption.”
