In the dynamic world of social media, where trends come and go, Raizy Fried has emerged as a trailblazer, transitioning from being an Instagram enthusiast to creating an online platform that is transforming the way Jewish women learn and connect.
Eight years ago, Raizy embarked on her Instagram journey by showcasing pictures of her homemade food and sharing delicious recipes with her followers. The young wife and mother became known for her recipes on the best chicken soup, gefilte fish, yapchik and more. Adapting to social media’s evolution, Raizy began introducing stories, showcasing more aspects of her life as a frum woman. She shared her beautifully set Shabbos table and preparations for Yom Tov.
Raizy aimed to share her unique vision as a Jewish woman rather than amassing followers. She soon realized that many Jewish women were feeling isolated in their motherhood.
“I was looking around at Jewish women’s content and magazines,” she says, “and realized that there is so much focus on what you should buy and how you should dress your kids. But it’s not the stuff you wear and food you cook that makes you into a good wife and mother.”
A life hyper-focused on checking off a list is certainly a fast path to burnout, and Raizy was beginning to feel it. So, the influencer began listening to Jewish podcasts and shiurim.
“I saw how life can be so different when you fill your life with the things you need most. Learning and having empathy for yourself infuses life with meaning.” Raizy wanted to help other Jewish women feel confident and empowered. “Life is chaotic. We each have a different story and we need chizuk. But that doesn’t mean we need a $700 course.”
Raizy decided to bring meaningful content directly to Jewish women through her own platform. She named it Inspired Living. Inspired Living, which includes cell phone content and desktop accessibility, is filled with captivating Torah learning in a conversational, relatable style. “We cover everything a Jewish woman needs – from self-growth to parenthood to emotional tools for navigating life,” she says. The content is inspiring, emotional, and practical.
The app is brimming with woman-to-woman conversations. “We are here to give a sense of community,” the ba’ale busta says. “Some people have support from sisters and friends, but many people don’t have that. Our platform offers very relatable Torah learning geared to women.”
One key feature of Inspired Living is its diverse content. Raizy interviews women from various communities – she features women who are Chassidish, Litvich, and Sefardish – all of whom showcase the richness of their experiences and perspectives. From discussions about raising teenagers to coping with loss and infertility, each episode is a treasure trove of wisdom.
Raizy often collaborates with Chabad women, and has featured Chiena Friedman (Avtzon) and Simcha Minkowitz. She highlights the women’s strong Chassidishe education, outgoing nature, and PR skills. The platform also features insightful discussions with Shlucha Brocha Chana Metzger and a two-part Mikvah series with Devorah Leah Rosenfeld.
Raizy, a Belzer chassidisteh, draws inspiration from her interactions with Chabad women, and has learned valuable lessons from the Rebbe’s teachings. “I learn Tanya and so much has fueled my work and helps me as a person,” she says. “I am a big chassidisteh of the Rebbe.”
Although the workload is challenging, Raizy’s commitment is unwavering, and the impact of her content is felt beyond the screen.
Inspired Living offers a $9.99 monthly pay-as-you-go subscription. “Categories including self-growth, parenthood, and practical and emotional tools to live your best life as a Jewish woman.” A new episode is released weekly, and monthly users have complete access to the full library.
Having meaningful conversations with women of all backgrounds has touched Raizy, and viewers are sure to be moved, as well. “Having these conversations has changed my life,” she says.
What’s in store for the future? “For me, the future is about going bigger and stronger,” Raizy envisions. She has already published two cookbooks, and she visualizes more books on the horizon with one already almost complete, and another taking form in her mind.
Raizy Fried’s evolution from an Instagrammer to the creator of Inspired Living is marked by her commitment to connecting with and empowering Jewish women. She speaks from the heart, and genuinely cares for her audience. “We need more women’s voices,” she says. As her platform continues to grow, Raizy hopes to impact many more Jewish women to join her journey of meaningful connections and a Torah-filled life.
