A chassidic farbrengen was held last week at the 770 shul in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood in Jerusalem.
The occasion was the 66th birthday of the community’s founder and spiritual leader, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Havlin.
Participants came together and wished their rabbi a successful year in his personal life and communal activities.
Among the guests were his brother Rabbi Moshe Havlin, Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Gat and member of the Chabad Beis Din of Israel; Mashpia Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Ofen and Jerusalem councilman Yaakov Halperin.
Another guest was Rabbi Simcha Rabinovitch, a local rabbi and member of Badatz Edah Hachareidis. He is also the author of the halachic book series “Pischei Teshuva.”
Rabbi Havlin, Chairman of the Heichal Menachem organization for spreading the teachings of Chassidus, thanked the participants for joining him on his special day.
A publisher of many books on chassidus and Halacha, Rabbi Havlin mentioned the Rebbe‘s instruction that good resolutions should be taken on a birth date.
Rabbi Havlin announced that the resolution he is taking upon himself on his birthday is to publish within the year 20 new seforim from the Rebbe’s teachings.
Those present lauded his major undertaking and wished him many more years of good health to continue being a lamplighter in the holy city and the world.
