Rabbi Deren Visits Meorot

Rabbi Yisroel Deren, Director of Chabad Lubavitch of Western and Southern New England, was in Israel for a 2 day visit.

He took the opportunity to visit yeshivas Meorot Chabad in Jerusalem, a joint project of the Shluchim Office which caters to kids of Chabad House members.

Rabbi Deren met with the Director Rabbi Chaim Greenberg and the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Uri Gamson and spoke to the students.

Rabbi Deren took an interest in the yeshiva’s standard and goals in order to inform his community about this option for the boys wishing to spend a year in Israel.

He expressed his impression from the work done with the students through the “Halacha for Life” study program and from the motivation they show.

He mentioned the need for such a program for the shluchim and added his recommendation that every shliach which has a community of mekoravim come and visit the yeshiva.
