Once again, Rabbi Schneur Z. Oirechman, Director of Chabad of Tallahassee, was invited to deliver the opening prayer for the Florida House of Representatives and for the State Senate.
When attending such occasions, Rabbi Oirechman brings along a Pushka, as per the Rebbe‘s instructions, to begin the session with an act of goodness and kindness.
For his April 21, 2010, appearance he brought an even larger charity box than usual, as per the request of the senate members.
“Many senators put tzedaka in the pushka following the prayer,” he told COLlive.com.
An opening prayer was later delivered by the house of representatives.
I love it too, #7! It cracks me up
How nicely and respectfully the two ladies in the back are listening and concentrating with true kavanah until he says amen and the white one can barely hold her self in!
Ha!
what an incrediable kidush Hashem!
Well done Rabbi. But there is something that bother me as a Chabad: the mention of Yom Ha’Atzmaus, for the simple reason that the Rebbe clearly said that there is no real independance in Israel, because we can see that the Goyim, and especially America, have an hand on Israeli policies. So Yom Ha’Atzmaus is a forgery and a Chabad cannot celebrate it (and for many other reasons). For the rest, Amen for your prayer.
I like hearing goyim pronouncing “Chabad” as if it was “Shabad”
He delivered the invocation very well
but should have mentioned Israel without mentioning a date on the calendar. It is not the duty of a shliach to promote that particular day. There should be a proof readers VAAD.
Now our wonderful elected representatives will take money from us (via taxes) to give to charity (electors)!
Oh, snap!
go rabbis
Good work Schneur!
