On Rosh Chodesh Adar II each class at the Cheder at the Ohel dressed up as one of the four mitzvos of Purim.
The pre-1A put on a play describing the importance of Matonos lo’evyoinim. The 1st grade, explaining Mishte v’simchoh, gave out treats for all to enjoy.
The second grade did a presentation on the laws, customs and importance of Mishloach Manos, while the older boys did a play acting out the reading of the Megillah.
Then a giant hamentash came to explain how hamentashen are like the megillah. Hashem is the main part of Purim, yet He is hidden inside the megillah. The filling is what makes a hamentash, although the main part is hidden inside as well.
During this celebration, Cheder at the Ohel kicked off a grand Purim competition, “Who wants to be the Megillionaire.” Each class will compete to learn about the megillah as they take a tour exploring all of its aspects.
There will be a winner from each class, and one winner from the whole Cheder who will win the grand prize.
the two greatest advantages of this amazing cheder are the great melamdim and the small class sizes. if you keep putting stories up on col, the second advantage might go away ch”v cause the class sizes will grow. please stop posting these stories!
