Chabad of JFK Airport organized their annual Purim celebrations for the staff of El-Al Airlines and the thousands of passengers flying to Israel on Purim day.
Before Purim, El-Al’s executive office in Manhattan was home to a festive celebration.
Said Yoram Elgrabli, Managing Director of El-Al of North and Central America: “The entire month of Adar is a month of joy, and we would like to thank Chabad of the Airport for always bringing joy to us and to our employees.”
Director of Chabad of the Airport, Rabbi Yossi Rapp, then relayed the story of Purim and expounded upon the lessons we can learn from it in our daily life. “Just as we merited to redemption in the times of Purim, so too we will very soon merit to the final redemption with Moshiach, who is already on his way,” he said.
From the moment check in opened on the eve of Purim and on Purim day, Rabbi Rapp was seen with his crew offering the Purim Mitzvos of Megillah readings, Mishloach Manot (Gifts of Food), and Matanot Laevyonim (Charity for the Poor). Also offered in abundance were traditional Hamantashen, delightful refreshments, and abundant holiday spirit. Jewish staff and security of El-Al partook in numerous other Purim gatherings as well. It is estimated that these efforts have brought the joy of Purim to hundreds of Jews this year.
Chabad of the Airport thanks El-Al, JFK, and IAT for their constant assistance and support.
