Melbourne Friendship Circle celebrated Purim 2017 in grand style for the sixth year running, at Kimberley Gardens Restaurant and Convention Centre, sponsored and hosted by owners Shimon and Shifra Manshari and family.
Over 200 people were in attendance including Friendship Circle participants, their families, staff and volunteers.
Patrons were served up a scrumptious 4 course smorgasbord seudah while performing the 4 mitzvos of Purim.
Director Rabbi Mordy Engel explained that the extra joy on Purim was partly due to the fact that on Purim not only do we celebrate being victorious against our adversaries but we celebrate the fact that the then world power King Achashveirosh, unlike Pharoah and the Yavonim, sided with the Jewish Victory, culminating with his son Daryovash permitting the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash – mirroring what will happen when Moshiach comes – that all world powers will concur with the building of the Third Beis Hamikdash.
Thanks were given to all the amazing and dedicated staff and volunteers.
