Pop Up Bookstores Around NY

In honor of Lag Bomer, Machon Ohr Hachasidus will once again be setting up temporary book stores throughout different neighborhoods in New York, selling Sifrei Chassidus at vastly discounted prices.

Chabad bochurim are planning to visit chareidi neighborhoods in New York during the 24 hours of Lag Bomer to sell Chassidic Seforim.

Lag Bomer is the day which marks the Hillulah of Rabi Shimon Ben Yochai who was the first to publicly teach Kaballah of the Torah and authored the Zohar.
Many on this day find themselves inspired to delve into this deeper dimension of the Torah which in more recent times were elucidated and expounded upon in the teachings of Chassidus and in particular those of the Rebbeim of Chabad.

Machon Ohr Hachassidus, an institute that spreads chassidus and the teachings of the Chabad Rebbeim including has ordered 10 truckloads of Sifrei Chassidus to be sold throught the day. It publishes the weekly booklet Likras Shabbos which is distributed in tens of thousands​ of copies in shuls and yeshivos around the world.

Rabbi Avraham Mann, director of the Ohr Hachassidus organization relayed that hundreds of posters publicizing the ‘on the go bookshops’ have already gone up and much positive feedback in anticipation of the sales has already been received.

“This is the tenth year that we are doing this project and in wake of the great success met in previous years we are expanding and will be holding 20 book sales throughout New York,” Mann said.

Books will be sold throughout Boro Park and Williamsburg, as well as over the phone. Chabad bochurim and yungerleit are volunteering their time to coordinate the large project.

During the day thousands of seforim, among them Tanyas, Chassidus Mevueres, Torah Ohr and Likutei Torah, Sefer Hamaamorim Meluket, the Rebbe’s Reshimos and more are expected to be snatched up be eager buyers who will surely take advantage of the subsidized prices.
