If you are using billboards as your point then I have no response. Because that deserves no response.
And, what if a rainbow comes across the ocean? I never seen a billboard across an ocean.
After the flood, the pasuk says, “I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth… And the bow shall be in the cloud, and I will look upon it to remember the everlasting covenant between G-d and every living being, among all flesh that is on earth.” [Bereshis 9:13-16]. The Torah herein states that after the flood, G-d made a promise that He would never again destroy the world through a flood. Apparently, the Almighty needed a reminder that He made such a promise. Therefore, He created… Read more »

‘Todah’ COLlive.com for the great photos and article!
Love your post1
By the way I doubt there’s anything wrong with looking at photos of the rainbow. That’s not like actually looking at the rainbow itself. I remember thinking after that rain– don’t look outside, it feels like a rainbow out there. Glad I didn’t
lookl!
Rainbows are goyish? Really? You can’t be serious.
pleeese lets do tshuva together so the moshiach can come before then!!!!!
after all the Rebbe has done for us lets bring it now
# 14’s (pot of gold) = Kingston Ave.
My wife and I had a good laugh at that one ! 🙂
BTW, I haven’t yet checked on the halacha not to tell others when you see one. But if that is accurate thanks for teaching me a halacha I’ve never learned before.
Thanks also for causing others to learn halachois as that helps to guarantee them a Portion in the World to Come.
I completely agree with you
To #14 LOL
To #10 Hashem created it so how can u say that?
hhhmmm 14 comments so far… (sure to be much more…. lol heres one already)
to those that have a positive outlook and find the silver lining,,, bless you guys,,
To those that are critical of talking/showing a rainbow,,,,,,
well dont talk and dont see
Now I know what the “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow” is.
Its KINGSTON AVENUE!!!
Egypt is in middle of a huge military take over, there’s civil war in Syria DOMA is finally struck down, and COL is reporting on rainbows?!?! What’s next? another shidduch op-ed?
I believe it’s true that you’re not supposed to publicize. But in general, a rainbow also represents G-d’s promise not to destroy the world again as during the Mabul. Look at the positive! Moshiach now!
there are halachos about what to do when you see a rainbow. But whether you saw it or not, DO TESHUVA. We don’t have Moshiach yet, and we don’t have the beis hamikdash yet, so that’s proof enough that we need to mend our was, esp now that the “rainbow people” were granted federal rights to sin in public. Rainbos are goyish
It says there will be a rainbow at the time of the Geulah!
Lets be ready!!!
In grade school, 3rd grade maybe younger, we were taought that when you see a rainbow you shouldn’t show it to others The reason is for the few among you that didn’t listen that day, since the rainbow is a reminder of the great flood, telling the world “you should have gotten flooded as the mabul generation did but since hashem promised Bosch he would never destroy the world that way he would give us a sign to remind us to do Tshuva” well we were told that the person seeing the rainbow may be the only one needing that… Read more »

i am not sure if this is news that should be published, if i remember correct it is not even proper to tell someone about a rainbow so that they should go out and make a Bracha,
zocher habris…….
Love the pics!
Is this a PSA for everyone to do tesuva?
one does not show his neighbor a rainbow bec. it is a sign for the one who sees it that the mabul was supposed to happen bec. of him and he should do tshuva and not necessarily his friend/neighbor so don’t publicize this
I knew thats what G-d thinks of crown heights…
What does it mean?? Is Moshiach coming?
