A capacity crowd of Jewish interns boarded a vessel at Washington Marina for the annual Jewish Interns cruise.
The cruise was sponsored by NJIN – The National Jewish Interns Network, a project of American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad), which offers Shabbos dinners, weekly classes and other social opportunities to Jewish interns in Washington, DC for the summer.
Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL) joined them and gave them an overview of the US-Israel relationship as well as the current situation in the Middle East from his unique vantage point as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa.
The interns were then able to ask questions and shmooze with the Congressman, who made a special effort to be there despite pressing votes and committee hearings.
A sushi and falafel supper followed as they were cruising on the Potomac and got to see the Washington, DC sites, including a brilliantly illuminated Nationals Park, from the water.
“Dave”. 😉
Good job in getting all these students involved
The Rebbe is surely proud of your shlichus not only with the great activities and kiddush HaShem but also from not compromising in your chasiddishe look and behavior. Keep it up and hopefully many young shluchim will learn from you!
