Chabad Girls Academy in Crown Heights celebrated their 2020 Graduation for Grade 8 in Covid fashion. The ceremony took place in the school backyard, which was decked out in graduation decorations with spacing between chairs. Even with a limited audience size, the CGA community was so grateful to actually gather in person for this milestone. A beautiful brunch was offered inside.
The graduation centered on the Rebbe’s words (28 Sivan) – that the most essential chinuch is connection to Hashem – and on the day’s HaYom Yom (29 Sivan) – encouragement as Chassidim to recognize hashgocha pratis in every experience. The graduates spoke of their perseverance in connecting to Hashem and accepting His will, the hashgocha pratis during this challenging year.
The graduates expressed gratitude to their teachers who so lovingly encouraged and cared for them. They mentioned that CGA is their second family, their second home.
CGA Director Mrs. Devorah Leah Angyalfi warmly praised the graduates for their amazing attendance and participation in their online classes. They completed assignments, submitted gorgeous projects and were so supportive of each other in overcoming obstacles. They also excelled as role models for the lower grades and will be missed in the coming year.
Mrs. Gavriella Aber, CGA Principal, told them that the most important take-away from their time at CGA is using the relationship tools they learned – to dare to face and resolve issues so they can be happier people.
As a parting gift, Mrs. Aber and Mrs. Angyalfi handed each girl her graduation certificate and a name-engraved leather Tehillim so she may always connect to HaShem in all circumstances.
