To #34 – B”H for you – if you live in Montreal or some Chabad community where everyone still looks like the Rebbe’s Chassidim!! If you’ve been in Crown Heights lately, or the mountains, or maybe any other place where there is an Anash community – you will see that people are being tested – and it seems right now that one of the biggest nisyonos is Tznius…letting go….not caring….not sure what the reasons are – but you definitely would see those who you would think know nothing about the Rebbe or Chabad! It’s a real shame!!

Nice!

T.V.O.G.I.

Our son is having a great summer bh!
July 17, 2012 6:27 pm

Thank you for a fantastic summer experience for our son!

I agree about the seating though….fighting for a seat at one of five picnic tables is less than ideal.

Oh, and could you please do something about that horrendous “singing” on the loud speaker? I’m all for chassidish music, but could you possibly resort to something pre-recorded? I’m not a music critic by any stretch, but most parents and campers were cringing; especially in the bunk houses.

All in all though, a worthwhile and enjoyable day at a great camp.

thanks!

A little tacky
July 17, 2012 5:09 pm

I know the waiters want tips – don’t we all – but the sign is just a tad tacky and does not leave a good taste…

31 and 33
July 17, 2012 4:16 pm

Why is it refreshing? Why were you afraid we were losing it? I am so confused…these are the lubavitchers who I see all of the time…

July 17, 2012 12:31 pm

I wholeheartedly agree with #31 – it is SO refreshing to see Lubavitchers looking like Lubavitchers – I was afraid we were really losing it!!! The Rebbe, and all of us who care, are glad to see these pics!! Montreal – you must be doing something right, B”H!!

correct spelling
July 17, 2012 12:01 pm

nostalgia is spelled with an o not an ‘a’

So nice to see chassidishe families
July 17, 2012 11:36 am

So heartwarming and beautiful to see chassidishe families, fathers with full beards, kids looking like chassidishe children…may we all continue to have much nachas from all our children, (whichever camp they may be!)

go palaces!!!!

Evidently, you weren’t in camp. I was writing about nastalgia. I was in camp for many years and when the sand would get dry we would spread the field with something that would hold down the sand from blowing.

i still agree with # 6. Parents traveled far and a place to sit and water on a hot day would be welcome.

i domt know if you have ever been in cgi montreal befor but on the other side of camp there’s such a big Baseball Field, you wouldn’t emagine

Agree with #6
July 16, 2012 9:45 pm

The point is….it was a boiling hot day and some cold water would’ve been appropriate to offer parents… in pitchers in the dining room. There also should be way more picnic tables or even chairs outside for the amount of people who come from so far! The camp is an amazing camp for our boys …noone is negating that!

Perhaps you didn’t notice, but there are dozens of rest stops and stores along the road to camp. Perhaps you could have bought a bottle of water before arriving to camp to greet your kid with such a negative attitude. How sad.

July 16, 2012 8:01 pm

it would been nice to welcome parents who made a ten hour trek from ny with a little cold water instead of preaching to the kids you can show them first hand how to treat guests perhaps it can be corrected for the future
