Celebrating a Chassidishe Yom Tov in a most appropriate manner was the goal of the Oholei Torah PTA, as they held their 12th annual Hey Teves Book Fair.
In keeping with the Rebbe’s directive to buy Seforim in honor of Hey Teves, books, CD’s and other Judaica were available for sale a deeply discounted prices for the Oholei Torah talmidim.
Many of the fairs highlights included, bookbinding, Chinese auction, an expanded display of antique seforim and many guest “mashpi’im who held farbrengens and explained to the young talmidim the uniqueness of the day
Each Talmid receives a dollar from the PTA – in accordance with the Rebbe’s directive for tzedoka or to use to purchase seforim. In keeping with the theme of Shnas Hakhel, the kindergarten divisions were also includes in the fair, from both sites, 667 as well as East Flatbush.
Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director, thanks the PTA mothers, saying, “the excitement and dedication of each PTA member, greatly adds to the overall atmosphere of the school, and is greatly appreciates by the talmidim, staff and faculty.”
Due to the expanded book fair, many more PTA mothers came to make sure everything ran smooth and the talmdiim enjoyed all the Hey Teves activities.
The event is a project of the Oholei Torah PTA, and is coordinated by a large group of dedicated mothers.

I just have to say that the PTA at Oholei Torah ROCKS!! The dedication of the mommies to help ensure that the chinuch in our school is top notch is exactly in line with what the Rebbe wants us to do! I want to take this opportunity to single out the bar mitzvah boys who “manned the booths” Standing and explaining the antique seforim, helping little boys choose seforim to buy, the bochur who played the keyboard and the boys who ran the farbrengens. What excitement ! Yashar koach to the pta for putting out such an amazing fair – so much thought and organization. My sson looks forward to this fair every year and always with something new and exciting!
