A section of the world’s most ancient Jewish sites, from which Jews are usually barred from visiting, was briefly opened this week by Muslim authorities.
Israel’s Chief Rabbis Yitzchak Yosef and David Lau were granted special entrance to pray at Kever Yitzchak, where the second patriarch of the Jewish nation is buried in the Ma’aras HaMachpela in Chevron.
The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf agency controls 81% of the southeastern section of the ancient structure, which includes the graves of Yitzchak or his wife Rivkah. Jews are not permitted to visit the section except for 10 days a year.
Non Jewish tourists are permitted to enter the site.
Israel Defense Forces accompanied the Chief Rabbis who were visibly moved by the oppurtunity. They were joined by the Kotel Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Major General Yoav Mordechai who is Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and Brigadier General David Menachem, head of the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria.
The banishment of Jews from that area, a result of the agreements between Israel and the Paledtianians, is still a contested issue among Jews.
This past month, Jews chased away Jibril Rajoub from entering the Jewish section of the Ma’aras HaMachpela. Rajoub has been arrested twice by Israel for terror activisit and has compared Israel to Nazi Germany.

when a child cannot go to the Kever of his Mother & Father. Whoever in our family signed these “agreements” to stay away made a huge cosmic mistake. Moshiach NOW !!!
