Mrs. Rivkah Hecht, a senior Shlucha to New Haven, Connecticut, has passed away at the age of 92 after a lengthy illness.
She and her husband, Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Hecht OBM, were sent by the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe to New Haven to serve as Shluchim over 50 years ago.
The Rebbe’s wife, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson once made a rare trip to New Haven to visit the Hebrew Day School-Lubavitch, headed by Mrs. Hecht.
She is survived by her children – Rabbi Yossi Hecht – Chief Rabbi and Shliach in Eilat, Israel; Rabbi Sheya Hecht – Shliach in Orange, CT; Mrs. Zeilingold – S. Paul, MN; Mrs. Katz – New Haven, CT; Mrs. Kaploun – Monsey, Mrs. Mathless – New Haven, CT; and Mrs. Shani Fellig – Montreal, Canada.
She is also survived by siblings Rabbi Yosef Krinsky – Crown Heights; Rebbetzin Sophie Goodman- Chicago, IL; Mrs. Yocheved Goldberg – Boston, MA; and Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Krinsky, Crown Heights.
The levaya will take place today, Thursday, passing by 770 at 2:00 pm.
