Dante Arnwine, MPA, District Manager of Brooklyn Community Board 9 has announced that Brooklyn Community Board 9 is hosting a Bike Lane Feedback session on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at 6:30PM in the CB9 Board Office located at 890 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225.
Residents are invited to attend the session in person to learn more about DOT’s proposed bike lane project in our community and give your thoughts and feedback on the plan.

The recent article on electric scooters and bicycles riding on sidewalks should give you cause to think on the value of having dedicated bike lines. I commonly see the topic of bike lanes being trashed in op-eds and posts here, so I’m sharing my piece. Just like you need and appreciate efficient bike lanes there are many in the community who need and appreciate access to rental cars, or easy access to food delivery, or any number of things that you don’t need and don’t appreciate. CH is a diverse community with diverse needs. There are people who bike to work, there are families with kah many kids with either multiple or large vehicles to park, there are people who are home bound and reliant on food deliveries, and there are many others, all of whom live together and (hopefully) care enough about each other… Read more »
You seem to presume that I am being inconsiderate or incognizant of the diverse diverse needs of the community, yet I agree on all your points, which must mean we simply disagree on the means. Let’s break it down. I do rent on occasion (and admittedly more so in the past), and normal rental companies have a garage or yard from which they store and operate their fleet of rental cars.
