Another day, another attack.
A Chabad yeshiva student was violently punched by a man in yet another unprovoked assault against Jewish individuals in the streets of Brooklyn.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 28, at approximately 3:00 PM at the corner of Kingston Avenue and Union Street in Crown Heights.
The 22-year-old yeshiva student was walking and carrying a bag when a black man dressed in a hoodie struck him with his left elbow, nearly causing him to fall.
“He didn’t know what hit him,” a friend told COLlive.com. “He couldn’t remember if the attacker said anything. Thankfully, he wasn’t injured.”
The yeshiva student, who came from Israel to spend the month of Tishrei in New York, filed a police report.
Video surveillance obtained by COLlive.com confirmed the incident.
A source at the NYPD said that they are not investigating the case as a hate crime, as they could not establish a motive.
This incident happened a day before a more severe attack occurred on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, where a Jewish man was slashed in the face on Tuesday.
VIDEO:
The police were literally standing there and did nothing!!! Find that COP!
Slight difference
But nice try
Pretty sure that’s a crossing guard not a police officer
sadly but true .. report it to devorah halbestam & yaakov berman
and do what exactly, they stand by all day anyway with out issue.
You should have called the police
If it wasn’t a hate crime, then what was it? He did it for love?
This is insane shmira shomrim cops police and incidece like these are happenning and its not a hate crime what is going on?
the video started?
nothing, bochur was just walking and an insane man with a terrible history just assaulted him. Why do you ask?
How does a guy get away with this on Kingston Ave? How’d the guy who stabbed get loose?
We are no stronger or weaker than the 18-20yr olds in other uniforms, our tzivos Hashem uniforms aught to be enough to give us the courage to protect ourselves physically.
Maybe smira/shomrim/a lawyer can write an oped educating us on what we can and cannot do seeing a situation like this.
Empower us with knowledge and courage.
Is everyone just standing and watching?
Cowards
Scream at him , run at him
Youre right but majority of people usually react this way as evidenced in this clip.
I have a feeling if this was in Williamsburg, they’d be chasing him.
Your trying to start another crown heights riot?
That guy deliberately targeted, selected, and intended his attack. He knows the police will do nothing. He knows Hochul will do nothing. He knows even if he is arrested he will be out scot free because of that evil bail reform.
Very obviously, this guy has a deep hatred and anger that he blames on the jews around him. The jew obviously did not intend anything but the man who has discriminating feelings towards the jew felt vindicated and entitled to push the jew !
SPECIALLY FROM THE “POLICE”
The laws are very weak regarding Animals behavior.
WE NEED/MUST Start DEFENDING ourselves, with WHATEVER necessary to COMPLETE/FINISH/STOP this nonsense.
ANIMALS BELONG/SHOULD ONLY LIVE IN CAGES OR RESTRICTED DESIGNATED AREAS
there’s only 1 way it stops. these criminals must be caught and beaten up. i would say even hanged, but people will say that’s too extreme
Until we’re extreme, it won’t stop.
In an earlier video it looks like the brochur accidentally “cut him off” and walked next to the perpetrator, who was carrying alot of stuff. His unbelievable response was to shove the brochur to the ground with tremendous force.
An animal behaves with inexcusable animalistic and aggressive behavior!
I deal with these people all the time. They are overly critical of others minor discrepancies amd behaviors around them but than they’ll slap their kids in broad daylight. They’ll be slighted and feel discriminated against and will react in the entitled violent ways. You can trigger them without even intending to and they will lash out violently or with utmost contempt.
I think we need them
so more bochurim can mace themselves by accident? or get into legal issues because they used them when they shouldnt have??? no thank you.
The police ??? And everyone around
And people around doing nothing, yes that happens on so many levels where people stand around and don’t take action or speak up to defend fellow humans and even close friends and family members. People are intimated and you can’t always assume selfishness because most can’t stand up for themselves and their children either. Such is life so be grateful to whoever stands up for you and for injustice
A hate crime means the motive is simply hatred of the other person, in this case, on the basis of religion.
Any bystander would be wary that the guy, obviously mental, may have a weapon on him if they attempted to approach…
What should we do? The police don’t do anything, and if any yid struck back…well, we know who would end up on the short end.
PROTECT YOURSELF AND DO NOT GIVE THEM AN EXCUSE FOR THIS HATEFUL BEHAVIOR. How? Be sure to be extra courteous when walking. Yes, in NY it is indeed the norm for us to drive bumper to bumper and to walk shoulder to shoulder hurriedly trying to get past or squishing through groups of people. But the recent string of attacks on the road like these, you can see a lack of COURTESY in the way the yid is walking (not to mention what looks like a lack of alertness. COURTESY = CAUTION. Lack of courtesy from lack of care, is… Read more »
Its amazing that the individual was not even the slightest intimidated by the officers presence! And the officer did nothing. What message does that send?!
A crossing guard can’t deal with all the things that a policeman does
Kingston and Union, are you kidding? This is insane and the cop is standing on the corner. One look and turns away. Where is our protection.
HE Is LITERALLY standing on the corner to protect us.That is his job.Why is he not doing his job. WHAT ELSE IS HE THERE FOR????
Not her job she can call police just like anyone else that was there
IN DAYLIGHT
While police and shomrim and guardian angels are nice, it is best that one stands up for their own rights and safety. While some might consider it dangerous to fight back (maybe he has a gun, a knife, is stronger), taking a punch without offering at least yelling back and reprisal of sorts is simply asking for similar occurrences. Yes, it’s difficult to yell for help, or to chase someone, or hit back or even use pepper spray, but that’s the law of the jungle in which we live. If you don’t do what’s difficult and assert your rights to… Read more »
Back in the day there was “chaps-em” and perhaps this still exists in some neighborhoods, when if there was a perpetrator, he would be chased, caught and given some street justice. Smartphones create some of a challenge to street justice, but certainly catching and holding him down wiht a bit of discreet discomfort applied, with the power of numbers, is an option. Doing nothing is certainly the worst option. Bullies learn fast
All the people who were around that did nothing are responsible for the fact that it happened and will happen again. Cowards.
Incident lasted a minute. You don’t know if you would react quick enough to stop it,by the time you would do something, the man would.walk away. Unless you were with an armed group who would together catch the man, no individual is going to try catching him alone
It is only the fact that they have no fear of consequences that make them treat Jewish blood as cheap. The so called prosecutors and law enforcers of NY have much to answer for, They are why these serious Hate crimes have largely gone unrecorded and unpunished in this neighborhood where the criminals are given precedence over the decent and good.
