New York City’s Office of Emergency Management has notified the partial temporary closure of the Brooklyn Bridge, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River.
The Manhattan-bound lanes will have a continuous full closure from 12:01 AM on Saturday, July 11, through 5:00 AM on Monday, July 13, due to planned construction.
They advised that commuters during these days “consider alternate routes and allow for additional travel time.”
This change will affect those traveling Upstate New York and the many Chabad families planning to visit their children during Visiting Day at boys and girls overnight summer camps this Sunday.
They include the following camps:
Camp Gan Israel in Parksville, NY
Camp Emunah in Greenfield Park, NY
Yeshivas Kayitz Tannersville in Kingston, NY
Camp Gan Israel of Montreal in La Minerve, QC
Camp Chayolei Hamelech in Lackawaxen, PA
YSP is in NJ. Take the Manhattan bridge to holland tunnel to US 1&9.
Now that i thought it over, perhaps you meant the Tappan Zee Bridge which is North of the Bronx, which cost only five dollars coming back to the city, so if you go that route and take either the whitestone or Triborough Bridges ( or even the Throgs Neck ) it will cost the about same (or even cheaper) than taking one of the Hudson river crossings in NYC.
The Triboro bridge does not leave the city (unless you mean Manhattan) and cost the same both ways, and so does the Whitestone.Taking both of them would be a heavy tax.
I take the Whitestone to the GW or the Whitestone to the Triboro. The Triboro has a toll leaving the city but is cheaper coming into the city. Usually less traffic that way so even tho about 10 miles extra driving, takes faster. For those who want to skip the traffic on the 87 they can take the palisades to exit 18 to US 6W (takes you straight onto the 17)
All its saying is about Brooklyn BR, Take Manhattan BR, (or Williamsburg BR) to Holland Tunnal, or GWB. Its simple as that…..
You can take the BQE in Williamsburg going towards Queens & then get the Tri Boro bridge. You will end up on the Harlem River Drive.
You can also take the west side highway to the GWB
Use waze
There is something called Google Maps. You should try it once in a while.
Little hint: there is a way to get to the GW bridge via the 278, but there may be an extra toll.
What about Pardas Chana in Val David, QC?
How about YSP?
Take the Manhattan bridge
