Merkos – press release
As thousands of Chassidim poured into the New York area for Gimmel Tammuz, the members of the Kinus Hashluchim committee met to plan the upcoming Kinus of 5774.
The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the affect it had on last year’s Kinus was addressed in detail. With Hashem’s help, in the midst of the destruction, the Kinus organizers were able to switch the Gala Banquet to the New York Hilton less than a week before the event.
Despite the multi-room setup due to the small size of the ballrooms, every effort was extended that every guest at the banquet should feel part of the program.
The Vaad Hakinus discussed innovative ideas to streamline efficiency and better the Shluchim’s experience.
With the number of Shluchim and guests attending the Kinus increasing each year, organizers are constantly searching to improve organization and better the service to a conference that is already the highlight of a Shliach’s year.
Excuse me. Are you perhaps a mind reader knowing where this man lives,or is it just so Incomprehensible that a shliach actually cares about a fellow jew, eventhough theymay live in crown heights. I for one think the shame is on you.
You are definitely not a shliach!
You’re a resident of CH that is upset that the shluchim come in every year and are covering yourself by saying your a “Shliach from very far away” SHAME ON YOU!
Why can’t there be something like the women’s guest program, but for men?
i am a shliach, very very far away BUT that does not mean that the lives of C.H residents, who have kids and elderly people, who have routines to be carried out (not just going shopping around the cnr, please! ) need to be unecessarily disturbed. There are already a myriad of inevitable disturbances for both kinussim and no one complains, on the contrary, they host graciously etc. But, that does not mean that “we” can or should come in and just trample the place, in areas which are really not necessary, erecting a tent and closing down blocks and… Read more »
sluchim work day and night for their communities
do something nice for them plz
does anyone force you to “house & feed” anyone?
nebech, you will have to drive around the block to do your shopping, while for many shluchim they need to ship their food in.
close off the street – and then we can really be inconvenienced!
Not enough that that we have to “house & feed” these guys, but lets have a real-feel experience, where we are displaced big-time – not just here and there!
or citi fireld
Than we can erect a tent ect
that would totally destroys the energy witch you would get i NY B/C of fellow shluchim you have not seen in [for some ppl years ] to be in a room with 6000 ppl its n experience you cant get unless your there.!!!!!!!
KA”H
Maybe just like the setup at the Hilton use that and have banquets in other cities. As an example Shluchim in Florida or California could meet in at a hotel in Miami or LA and it could feel as if they are in a room down the hall from the main banquet. It would save a fortune of money and travel time….
