Action-Packed Beginning at YSP

Since the arrival of the Talmidim at Yeshiva Summer Program (YSP) in Morristown, NJ, it has been a whirlwind of activity, building steadily, from the boys’ arrival, to their first trip, the first 48 hours of YSP have proven to be action-packed.

After being briefed by Head Counselor Levi Harlig, the Talmidim then went to get their bags, with the staff (and elevator) on hand to help with the schlepping. After unpacking and setting up their beds, and a hearty supper the Talmidim went to the Zal for the nightly video of the Rebbe, followed by Marriv. The day ended with some extra time prior to Lights-Out for the Talmidim to finish settling in.

Thursday began with a Chassidus Shuir from Moshe Bitton (one of our program directors), followed by Shachris. At 10:30 sharp the learning program orientation began, from there the bochurim went with their Magidei Shiurim to their Shiur rooms.

The afternoon brought much excitement as the boys found out which team they would be playing on for the exhibition games. Talent was on display as the Talmidim tired themselves out hitting fly-balls and throwing baskets. Our scouts have been on the lookout and with draft day looming, they are beginning to form their opinions.

Following the first activity the Talmidim were surprised to hear the sounds of buses approaching in order to take them all to the AMF Wallington Lanes. Yup! Less than 48 hours into the program the Talmidim were asked to form groups of 6 with whom they would be bowling this evening.

The day concluded with a Farbrengen in honor of Yud Beis – Yud Gimmel Tammuz together with Rabbi Yosef Wolvovsky, Director of Chabad of Glastonbury, Connecticut.
