Kehot Publication Society has announced the recent acquisition of a sprawling 100,000-square-foot warehousing and distribution facility in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Rabbi Yosef B. Friedman, director of Kehot, expressed profound gratitude to the 750 donors whose generous contributions to the ExpandKehot campaign made the purchase possible.
Mr. Baram of Brooklyn, New York, has been announced as the happy winner of the Kehot Legacy Library raffle associated with the Campaign.
The acquisition, in collaboration with Vaad Hanochos B’Lahak, was consummated on Beis Nissan, yahrzeit of the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Shalom DovBer of Lubavitch.
“The timing adds special significance to the purchase,” said Rabbi Mendel Laine, production director, as the original Chabad Tehillat Hashem Siddur was first published, in 1917-18, by Rabbi Shalom DovBer in Rostov-on-Don.
The strategic expansion comes at a time when Kehot’s annual printing exceeds 150,000 books of approximately 2,750 titles, with an unwavering commitment to ensuring the availability of the complete works of all the Chabad Rebbes. “It marks a pivotal moment for the Rebbe’s publishing house,” said Rabbi Friedman.
